When winter turns to spring, the days are longer and the fells full of light, while snow may be waist-deep still. This is the best time to be outdoors.
Open fells in the distance, nothing but the sound of your skis on snow around you. Enontekiö has hundreds of kilometres of ski tracks on natural snow. What sets us apart is the number of maintained tracks in the open fells.
Take on the snowy landscape and head into the quiet wilderness. You might well encounter a reindeer herder on his way to work. If you meet two, we would consider it a traffic jam.
You might be standing on two metres of snow. The only signs of life on the undisturbed snow are animal tracks. Snowshoes represent complete freedom to roam in the snowy landscape.
A dog sled is the greatest way to experience the thrill of speed while taking in the snowy landscape and silence of the wilderness.
Tutustu porojen ja poronhoitajien elämään tai hyppää reen kyytiin poroajelulle. Enontekiöllä tapaat nämä upeat eläimet todellisessa elementissään.
Would you like to have your own cottage by the fells? Nothing beats coming back to a warm cabin after a long day. Get something cosy or luxurious – it’s your choice.
Accommodation alone can be quite an experience here. You can spend your night in a wilderness hut and listen to the stove’s crackle or just as well admire the northern lights in a warm glass igloo.
