Jyppyrä rises about 400 meters above sea level next to the village of Hetta. From its top, you can see the entire chain of the Pallastunturi and Ounastunturi fells. Hiking to Jyppyrä is an absolute must on any visit to Hetta.
The view from its top towards Pyhäkero and the national park are simply spectacular. You can get there on a marked trail that starts from the Fell Lapland Visitor Centre and learn about Jyppyrä’s cultural significance on the way. A round trip is 1,8km with 90m ascent overall.
There is a scenic campfire spot at the top where you can take a break and admire the views. Many people from the village come up here to sit by the fire as well.
