Crystal-clear waters of Arctic Lapland are an unforgettable experience, no matter the catch.
Common catches here include trout and Lapland’s own delicacy, Arctic char. Lake Pöyrisjärvi is known for whitefish. For salmon, the best time is July to August. The prime time for fly fishing is from late July till end of August.
A good way to experience wilderness fishing is going on a guided tour. An experienced guide will help you with the technique, best fishing spots and safe travel in the wilderness.
Ice fishing is a popular activity during winter.The sunny days of early winter are best time for a ice fishing trip. Make sure that the ice is safe and go with a local guide!
You can learn more about fishing at the Fell Lapland Visitor Centre. From there you can also get your fishing permits.
